The first Day of Classes

Week 1 and 3

Now that I am equipped with the perfect schedule, it’s time to get up and go to class. I'm going to be excited and a little nervous about your first class, which is totally natural. will just stay calm and y I’ll make it through the NIGHT. yes NIGHT!!!!

The Course Syllabus

there will be like an intruduction to the course, and get to know each other.
Also Our professor gave us the syllabus on the first day of class. This document contains all of the important information you need to know about the class. for example:
  • Professor’s name
  • Office hours
  • Phone number and email address
  • Classroom
  • Description of the class
  • Class requirements
  • Grade requirements
  • Absence and tardiness policy
  • Reading and test schedule
  • Daily schedule
This is a very important document to keep. The course syllabus is the contract between you and your professor. Sometimes, professors will have students sign a copy of the syllabus and give it back. They do this so you can’t complain later that you didn’t know when the tests were or what the attendance policy was. Make a copy of each of your syllabi. Keep one copy with you and one in your room.

Finally we finished with an Introduction to British Literature

Beowulf

Beowulf is one of the most famous poems in old English. It is about three thousand lines long and the story revolves around three battles.
In the poem, Beowulf, a warrior from Geats comes to the rescue of Hrothgar, the king of the Danes whose land is being attacked by a monster, Grendel. Beowulf succeeds and defeats Grendel. To show his prowess, he even kills Grendel with his bare hands. However, the tension of the story escalates, because Grendel's mother is now on the warpath to get revenge. As the story progresses, Beowulf kills Grendel's mother in her liar with a sword that giants of a past time once used.
After this victory, Beowulf returns home to Geats. Fifty years pass. However, there is one final battle. There is a dragon that plagues his people because of stolen treasure. More importantly, Beowulf now has to defend his people. He fails at first, but then with the help of Wiglaf, a servant, chases the dragon into its lair and kills it. However, in the process, Beowulf receives a fatal wound and dies. Finally, he is buried by the sea.

About me...

I am studying English Teacher and Translator at ULACIT, but I actually work as a Systems Engineer and I love systems, applications and everything related with computers, This is one of my last courses for me to graduate, My goal is to have a MBA on systems Admin IT, not really being a Teacher, but life happens!!!!
I have 2 beautiful boys, who love to play, and I also have an extremely busy life, between my boys, my house, husband, work, college, not time for myself, So I will enjoy this blog a lot!!!

This blog has been made in order to have weekly post about our courses at ULACIT Costa Rica. It also provides students with the opportunity to read and enjoy excellent literary masterpieces: short stories, novels, poems, essays and movies, as a means to develop and increase critical thinking and academic writing.
I will also add techniques for our English lessons to make them more interest and dynamic to our students.
